Anticipation

Anticipation

This is the first time I’ve done ‘Word of the Week’, but I think it’s a great idea!

My word is ‘Anticipation’

noun
the action of anticipating something; expectation or prediction.”her eyes sparkled with anticipation”

Last Friday we started by packing in anticipation of our trip to France.

Saturday began the epic journey , all of us eagerly anticipating our holiday- day 1 was driving from the North East down to the Euro Tunnel.

Anyone else take so much stuff? In anticipation of every eventuality!

Daddy had the anticipation of heavy traffic due to the Bank Holiday, but it was actually not too bad. Euro Tunnel are great and often let you on a much earlier train.

The Euro Tunnel was fast and efficient, as anticipated. It never ceases to amaze me how quickly you can get from England to France.

The next leg of the journey seemed longer than anticipated, not helped by the boys having a keen anticipation of a big dinner at the Buffalo Grill at our hotel!

Did he only want Buffalo Grill for the hat?

The following morning after staying in Alencon, the journey went quicker than anticipated. There was none of the trouble we had anticipated either – plenty of fuel available, so no need for the fuel cans we had filled in anticipation of a shortage (if some of it at an extortionately inflated price!), and no blockades or traffic jams, just lots of rain!

There has been a lot more rain than any of us anticipated!

I certainly hadn’t anticipated having to do so much laundry due to running out of socks and trousers, and the boys getting so wet and muddy – we had anticipated wearing shorts and sandals by now! Nor did I have any anticipation of laundry hanging all over the house and not being able to get it dry!

Laundry!
Laundry hanging up, just won’t dry!

So now the rain is beginning to dry up, and we are all hanging around in anticipation of better weather, and the sun finally coming out. There is tree climbing to do, and lots of grass cutting and sweeping up too (see our Saturday Siblings post!)

Is there a boy in that tree, or is it a monkey?
