An Apology of a Week

My word of the week has to be ‘Apology’

Sorry puppy

It would probably be good for the last couple of weeks actually.

It’s been really busy since we returned from France last. I had a big event at school to pull off (Summer Fair), plus some training and a sports day. This is a big deal for someone whose heart is as dodgy as mine!

We had lots of fun at the Summer Fair though

I don’t usually talk about being ill. I don’t like to let it define me, you see. But sometimes it does take over, and lets me know who is really in charge! I like to forget about it, but if I forget too much, it certainly likes to remind me!

So, due to my inability to say no, to delegate effectively, or to pace myself, I’ve had a very close relationship with my duvet the past week or so!! I therefore owe everyone a big apology.

Sorry Heart

I’m sorry I’ve spent the last week or so being exhausted and emotional. I’m sorry my blog posts have been fairly rubbish (more than usual!) for a while, and that I’ve missed your linkies. Sorry my husband has forgotten for the last two weeks to take any photos of my kids for Saturday Siblings, and sorry to my kids that I’ve missed a full weekend of football tournaments (hmmm, this one may be sorry, not sorry!).

I’m sorry if I’ve missed comments, emails or calls. Sorry I haven’t taken any photos. Very, very sorry to 30 Days Wild that I failed to complete the 30 day challenge. Nothing much wild going on over here. Sorry! I’ll make it up to you, I’ll do lots of wild things over the summer, I promise.

Oops I will make it up to you!
Bad sign
Sorry kids!

Sorry to my kids that your school uniform isn’t ironed. I’m sorry we had to search all over for your football kit today. Sorry we had to put money in the birthday card for this weekend’s party because I haven’t been shopping for a present.

I hate having to apologise for losing a week or more, but mostly I hate having a dodgy heart which can’t keep up with me sometimes. I think it owes me an apology too!

  1. Well, I don’t think you need to be sorry for anything! Your followers will understand that we’re all human and that health should always come first Thanks for the update though

  2. Yes, I think it’s your heart that needs to say sorry, not you! You obviously needed the rest, so I’m glad you got it and hope the fact that you’re back means you are on the up now x Thanks for sharing with #WotW

Thanks, I hope to, once the boys finish school

  4. Oh that sounds tough, you clearly have a lot on your plate. Maybe it’s not just a question of saying no, but also of saying yes to yourself more often, and making your own needs more of a priority. Just take that duvet day and enjoy it. And don’t worry in the slightest about blogging, it will always be there for you when you want to come back to it. #KCACOLS

  7. Oh dont think you need to be apologising! Sounds like you have a lot on your plate, as well as illness to contend with. Like Joanne said, you need to make time for yourself – and dont feel guilty! #kcacols

Thanks Beth, you’re right. I do guilt rather too well!

  8. Awww I’m sure many would feel your health is more important than joining in with things and it’s important to look after yourself first and foremost. #WotW

Ah be kind to yourself, its impossible to keep up with life all the time and if sometimes things slip put yourself and your family first, anyone that matters will understand x

Thank you for your kind words Sarah x

  10. You don’t have to be sorry, look after yourself. Be Kind to your yourself. Everything else can wait. I can wholeheartedly identify as I pretty much the same (mental health, autism) and o have been there. But punishing yourself will only make the situation worse. You need a break and you deserve one. Don’t worry about linking up or blog posts, you do it when you want to. There is no signed obligation. Sending you lots of love and positivity X #wotw

  13. Definitely don’t be apologising! Your health, and taking a break, is much more important than joining linkies, and updating blog posts!! I’m sorry that you’ve been under the weather, and can’t imagine how frustrating it must be not to be able to do all of the things you’d like to be doing. I wish you a speedy recovery (or at least to your more usual standard of good health!) and hope this will pass soon. x

  14. Don’t even dream of apologising. We can’t always do it all and be on top form, it’s impossible! There’s no holiday or sick leave from parenting. Things need to be prioritised and your health and your family must always come first. Housework, blogging, school sports day are all insignificant in the grand scheme.
You look after yourself lady, and no more saying sorry! xxx

      Yes Mum!! Thank you xx

  15. You certainly don’t need to apologize for anything. We all have times where we need some extra help or don’t get to participate in things like we want to. As someone with chronic stomach issues air certainly know how hard it can be to keep up with everything when all you want to do is rest. I hope things get better for you soon. #KCACOLS
