Open fires are so cosy and welcoming, some might say romantic, but there’s not a huge amount of romance in cleaning out the grate afterwards!

So, I’m making a sweeping declaration (oh, see what I did there?!), we’re done with fires now ’til the autumn.

  4. Nothing beats a log fire though! I really wish we had one, but maybe that’s because I’ve never had the chore of cleaning up.

      I missed having one in our old house, but now I’m faced with it again, I must admit I also miss the convenience of popping the fire on for an hour! Never happy lol!
