Look at my new drawers!
We have received these lovely storage drawers from Rattan Direct, and we are so delighted with them.
My initial thought when ordering was that we would use these drawers in our conservatory, as rattan furniture sits well and is traditionally used in a conservatory setting. Our conservatory is a bit of a ‘dumping ground’ since we moved house as we don’t have a shed or a garage, so consequently, we have a lot of tools, bikes and cycling equipment living in there at the moment. This reason is part of my reluctance to put a piece of lovely new furniture in there, as I don’t want it damaged by things which should really be kept in a shed!
And a lovely piece of furniture it certainly is! It has far exceeded my expectations. The quality and size of the drawers are excellent. You will see more closely from the unboxing video we made, just how large the drawers are. They have a tremendous capacity for storage. Most impressive is the quality of the wood, which is strong and heavy. This is way superior to a lot of rattan furniture you see in stores. And hence my dilemma…
Storage is always an issue for our family. Despite having a big clear-out and de-cluttering massively before we moved, we still seem to have so much ‘stuff’! We are therefore now debating exactly where to put our lovely new rattan drawers. They are so attractive and so versatile that we feel they would suit almost anywhere in the house. We have a real mixture of wood finishes already, as this rented house was let fully furnished, so we’ve mixed in our existing things with our landlord’s. So, as you will see from the video (and survey within, if you took part!), we are in a bit of a quandary. Care to help out?
Our options are:
- Conservatory – put in cycling helmets, hats & gloves etc, or sports shoes (currently overflowing from the shoe rack), and/or table tennis accessories (this sounds random, but the table tennis table is in the conservatory!)
- Hallway – put in winter woolies/summer caps etc.
- Children’s bedroom – put in toys, or clothes
- Bathroom (my Mum just came up wth this one) – for storing towels or toiletries (or both)
We could use storage in all of these areas, so the question is, where would they look best?
What kind of storage do you need in your house currently? And what do you think of our new rattan drawers?
