We were so excited when the Disney Store contacted us with information about their Disney Party Service Online. It was great timing, just before Hugo’s birthday, so the concept of a Star Wars party was born! We weren’t going to have a party as Hugo also wanted to go to Edinburgh zoo, but we decided on something small-scale, just a few friends around, maybe a movie and a cake and some food. As we’ve only been living here since Easter, it was also a nice way for Hugo to form some stronger friendships with some of his new friends by inviting them over.

The new Disney Party Service Online is part of the Disney Store, and as well as being able to purchase a whole range of matching partywear and accessories in your chosen Disney themes, (including Star Wars of course, but also Frozen, Lion King, Cars, Moana, Toy Story, Disney Princess and more), you can plan your entire party! There are so many ideas for party games and activities, snacks and treats, and birthday cake inspiration. There is also a place for you to share your own ideas and be inspired by others.
In the party planning section, you can design and print out your party invitations, or email them directly to your guests. Kids today are so high tech! Then you can develop your guest list and chose the supplies you will need. Everything sorted on one page! We all have busy lives, and with so many balls in the air, a kids party could just tip the balance! How fantastic that this takes care of it all for us!
When our party supplies arrived, the excitement was mounting! Even a very small party is exciting when you’ve got all the gear! Take a look at all of these wonderful matching party items. It really set the party atmosphere! The quality was excellent, and the range of items was fantastic.

As our party was during the school holidays, unfortunately not all of the invitees could make it, but we still had ourselves a good time. I didn’t go too mad with party food, and the cake I had planned didn’t happen either (long story), but Hugo chose a WWE cake, and we made it Star Wars/WWE crossover by using some of the party straws cut down as cake toppers. This was a great last minute idea, and would work well on cupcakes too.

Here are a couple of other ideas to make your party a little more Star Wars:
- See above – make Star Wars party Straws into cake toppers
- Make some Yoda Soda – just add green food colouring to lemonade or sparkling water (I mixed yellow and blue to a fairly good match to Yoda’s light sabre!)
Yoda Soda! - Create some Galactic Jelly – blue jelly (again I used food colouring in jelly as couldn’t find blue!). Add fruits as floating planets – grapes, plum slices etc – plus some star sprinkles and silver candy balls.
- Make blue ice cubes, or freeze stars in ice cubes
- Add star sprinkles, silver edible glitter or silver candy balls to ANYTHING to make it instantly galactic/Star Wars!
A moving and talking Yoda made a fantastic centrepiece to our party table, and the party poppers were a huge hit too. I made simple party bags from Star Wars stickers and badges, plus some balloons, sweets, and more party poppers. The kids were really pleased with them.

It was really lovely to have this little house party. I fear it may be the last of its type now that Hugo is getting older. So I am very grateful to the Disney Store for sending us a fabulous party bundle to try out. Now it’s your turn – whose party do you have coming up next? Is there a theme from Disney they would love? Why not try out the Disney Party Service online and see what you think!

Disclaimer: We were sent a party bundle from the Disney Store, but as always, all opinions are honest and entirely our own.
