Ok, it’s been a while. I’m sorry. For lots of reasons we kind of lost our blogging mojo, but if you kept up with us on social media, thank you so much. From now on, our blogging is going to be less frequent, but hopefully will be a voice for good. So here I am, making […]

Autumn In Our Garden – My Sunday Photo

Well, there’s no denying Autumn is well and truly here! Soon you will hardly be able to see the green of the grass in our garden for the carpet of orange that is taking over! We’ve also collected some conkers today, and put them in a lovely little glass bowl I got from Poundland. There’s a […]
Storm Brewing at Birdoswald – My Sunday Photo

I’m sorry, I know it was only yesterday we posted about our trip to Hadrian’s Wall, but I loved the photos of the storm coming in so much that I just wanted to share one again! Plus, we haven’t taken part in My Sunday Photo for about a month now, which is really bad, as […]
Two Years of Puppy Love With Daphne Doodle

I took these photos of Toby with our lovely little Labradoodle Daphne for a post we were writing about personalised products. (He designed the t-shirt himself with pictures of Daphne, and claims he will wear it forever!). These few images don’t show off the t-shirt brilliantly, but they do show the fantastic bond that my son […]
The Golden Hour & My Golden Haired Boy

I’ve shared a few photos recently on Instagram and Facebook from this little evening outing. Paul and Hugo were out walking the dog, and knew immediately when they saw the way the light was hitting the fields that I’d want to see it and photograph it. So they kindly came back for me and drove […]
The Sad Loss Of A Huge Tree

Sadly, we had a huge tree come down here at Chataigne House in France. Part of it fell down in a storm, and it took another two leylandii which were forming an archway to the pool area with it. We were lucky it didn’t land on the pool house or heater. But unfortunately, it meant the […]
The Sun Will Come Out – My Sunday Photo

It’s always disappointing when you arrive abroad and the weather is no better than that you left at home. However, I’m consoling myself with the fact that it was quite dull when we arrived in France last year, and it soon brightened up enough for pool time and outdoor barbecues!
Make Time To Smell The Roses

Is that the phrase? Or is it take time to smell the roses? Well, you get the idea! Slow down, appreciate the beauty of nature that is all around you. Otherwise, you’re missing so much. I couldn’t resist snapping this beautiful rose in our garden – such lovely colours.
A Place To Sit and Think and Do

This is where I’ve spent a lot of time the last few days in the beautiful weather. Reading, writing, thinking, and making phone calls (because it’s one of the only places I can get a signal!). Maybe I could call it my outdoor office?!
Birthday Treats – Smash Cake

This week has been a week of treats for our youngest’s birthday. Surprise visits from family members, great presents, and a trip south for a celebration with his old friends and a sleepover at his favourite Uncle’s house. All topped off with the requested smash cake! Doesn’t get much better! Lucky boy. Happy birthday Toby!
